Recreational & Social Activities

Recreational Facilities

The Cliffs has two Clubhouses: Main Clubhouse and Upper Clubhouse. Each has a kitchen, game room, library, and function room; billiards, ping pong, TV, and Wi-fi are also available.

An outdoor heated swimming pool and spa are part of the Main Clubhouse complex.

Also part of the Main Clubhouse complex are courts for shuffleboard and horseshoes, an unfenced area for dogs, and an outdoor area suitable for parties and grilling (with your own grill). The Main Clubhouse can be reserved by residents for private parties.

General Rules for Use of Common-Area Facilities

Use: Recreational facilities are provided for the exclusive use of residents and a reasonable number of guests, but the number of guests should not interfere with residents’ use of the facilities. Residents are responsible for the conduct of their guests at all times.

Hours: Hours of use and other regulations are posted in and about the facilities.

Billiard Room: When using the Billiard Room, guests must be accompanied by a resident at all times. The cost to repair damage to the billiard tables and replace cue sticks or other related items must be paid by the responsible resident.

Shuffleboard: When using the shuffleboard court, guests must be accompanied by a resident at all times. Residents must obtain the combination for the supply locker from Management. Warning: The wax used on the courts is very slippery.

Alcohol & Smoking: Drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking in the common-area buildings is prohibited.

Proper Attire: Wearing wet swimwear is not allowed in the Clubhouse. Footwear must be worn in all community buildings and to and from the pool area.

Private Parties: The Clubhouse dining room may be reserved by residents for private functions. Application may be made with Management.

General Rules for Use of
the Swimming Pool and Spa

Use: No lifeguard on duty—use at your own risk and in an appropriate manner.

Hours: Hours are posted — usually from 9 am to 9 pm. Guests are allowed from noon to closing each day.

Showers: All persons must shower before using the pool or spa, and must take a soap shower before re-entering if suntan lotion is used.
Note: Suntan lotion clogs the pool filters.

Guests: Guests must be accompanied by a resident at all times.

Food and drink: Glass containers and food are prohibited in the pool and spa areas.

Conduct: Diving, running, jumping, excessive noise, and roughhousing are not permitted.

Furniture: For protection of the deck furniture, towels must be placed over chairs when using suntan oil or lotions.

Footwear: Shoes or sandals must be worn to and from the pool area.

Proper Attire: Swimwear is required when using the pool or spa—no cut-offs, t-shirts, etc. For health reasons, persons in diapers cannot use the pool or spa without proper swimwear.

The Cliffs Library

The Cliffs has a lending library of more than 2,000 books, audiobooks, DVD movies, puzzles, CDs, and even a few vinyl albums! The library is only in the Main Clubhouse. There are books in the other clubhouse, but are not part of the organized library yet. We are planning to add a children’s section, for your visits with the grandchildren!

The Cliffs Library is a volunteer-run effort and does not have a budget.  Lending is done on the “honor system”.   We welcome all donations in good condition.

Our librarian is Shirley Burger at shirleyburger918@gmail.com. She’s glad to help you find your next read!
